SIGN UP STARTS: October 31, 2015

Do you have projects that are hiding in your closet that you don’t know how to finish or haven’t had the time to finish for whatever reason? Do you have items that have been around so long that they have become part of the décor in your room? Do you have UFOs that someone gifted to you and are at a loss on how to finish them? Well, this is the start of a new year, a new chance to finish them once and for all. That means binding and labeling. Let’s take control of our UFOs and get them done instead of being afraid to finish and hide them away for yet another year or two!

But how, you ask? Take your scariest 11 projects, yes, that means knitting, crocheting, quilting and other sewing, and list them. This way you will be responsible for finishing them and you will have a cheering section of quilters backing you up and offering help along the way. In order to qualify, you have until January 1st to submit your list as the first UFO will be chosen that day. If you want to join us later on, please feel free to jump right in before the first of the next month. In order to qualify, you must post your UFO list here, otherwise it is not fair to the other players. Just want to make sure that we are all on the same page! You can sign up anytime but you have to have a list in order to play along.

The first person to finish gets the honor of picking the next month’s number and a FQ from my stash!   You must post a picture of the finished project. Remember, this is for all projects and they must be finished with binding and quilting, if applicable. If you find that you have more than 11 UFOs and finish more than 1 UFO in a month, you get credit for all but only one person will get the honor of receiving a FQ from me and calling the next number.

About cozyquilts

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Donna. My hubby is retired and I am still working from home. I have twin daughters and am blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by 4 cats that love to supervise and are very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, along with a small stuffed animal. Valley Children's Hospital is a new venture for me that just started this year. Every month or so I drop off a couple of quilts along with a small toy, for the children. I use a lot of bright, fun fabrics to help cheer them up. I do special order quilts but please be advised in advance as I work full-time in addition to quilting, I only do a few during the year. Also, it may take up to 6 months to a year to completely finish a quilt as my sewing time is limited. I only do applique or patchwork and will incorporate machine embroidery into my patterns, when requested. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you and friends again soon.
