My vision is to have many people involved in our group while at the same time having a variety of swaps going on throughout the year.  The tentative calendar that I posted is just an outline and not written in stone and is open to change with the exception of the Lovely Ugly Challenge, which is annual event started on our sister group, ScrappyQuilters on Facebook.

A while back I posted some ideas for swaps for next year and that they would be available for sign up soon, and here is a list of ideas that might be fun and a little bit different from traditional swaps and in addition to just fabric swaps. Some of them are self-explanatory, others maybe a little more detail is needed.

Now, before you start asking for details on the swaps, I will be posting the Swap Name and Information in separate Files and depending on how many players we get for each swap, then a database (sign up) will be created.  Just post below whatever swap interests you and we will go from the responses whether it is a go or not. These will not all start at the beginning of the year, they will be throughout the year, so don’t stress out.

If anyone would love to help hostess a swap, please let me know!  I am always in need of extra help and will work with you to make it a success!

Poor Quilter’s Swap swapping string blocks (PP or Foundation)

Twisted Sampler send a 10 inch piece of fabric and get 9 patch blocks back for a top.  Would need to choose which block and make it for everyone.

Half Square Triangles (one on one) Send HST and create and send back

Double Swap Any 9 patch block that involves a negative and positive.  Choose a color and get back 2 blocks for a nice start on a swap.  Example: Double Four Patch, 9-patch, etc.

Applique or Embroidery Swap

One in 12 Swap (Block a Month) Change partners every month (or so).  Send fabric and make and receive a block back.

Secret Quilter Swap make a block and send every month but keep it a secret.

Mini Block Club 6 inch blocks to trade

Theme Block  could be state, flower, country, etc

Mystery Swap Choose fabric and find out pattern as you go along (still working out details)

Fabric swaps self-explanatory

If you have any ideas or suggestions, please post and let us know!

This is just an outline.

Hello Everyone!
It will take me a little while to design the rules and type them out but I will be posting files for Swap Ideas this evening and tomorrow morning. Please feel free to look through them and see what you think. Thanks!

About cozyquilts

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Donna. My hubby is retired and I am still working from home. I have twin daughters and am blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by 4 cats that love to supervise and are very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, along with a small stuffed animal. Valley Children's Hospital is a new venture for me that just started this year. Every month or so I drop off a couple of quilts along with a small toy, for the children. I use a lot of bright, fun fabrics to help cheer them up. I do special order quilts but please be advised in advance as I work full-time in addition to quilting, I only do a few during the year. Also, it may take up to 6 months to a year to completely finish a quilt as my sewing time is limited. I only do applique or patchwork and will incorporate machine embroidery into my patterns, when requested. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you and friends again soon.
