Scrappy Quilters 2014 UFO Challenge

Do you have projects that are hiding in your closet that you don’t know how to finish or haven’t had the time to finish for whatever reason?  Do you have items that have been around so long that they have become part of the décor in your room?  Do you have UFOs that someone gifted to you and are at a loss on how to finish them? Well, this is the start of a new year, a new chance to finish them once and for all. That means binding and labeling.  Let’s take control of our UFOs and get them done instead of being afraid to finish and hide them away for yet another year or two!

But how, you ask?  Take your scariest 11 projects, yes, that means knitting, crocheting, quilting and other sewing, and list them.  This way you will be responsible for finishing them and you will have a cheering section of quilters backing you up and offering help along the way.

The rules are simple, for 11 projects you put in you have 11 chances of winning a FQ from me.  You have one month to finish a UFO and each UFO will have a number assigned to it.  I will start off by calling a number for that month.

But what if I don’t finish in a month?  You still have the next month to finish.

What if more than person finishes?  You will still receive a FQ from my stash if finished within that month.  The person who finishes first gets to call the number for the following month but all who finish get a FQ.

In order to sign up, please do the following:

Name, address and email address for mailing.

List your 11 projects, numbered, and the project, what you need to do to finish it.

In order to sign up, please click files and then Edit and add your name and information below.  Then click save. That way we keep all the information and it doesn’t get written over and over again.  Or you can go to our yahoo group and sign up in the database there at:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ScrapQuilters/database.

About cozyquilts

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Donna. My hubby is retired and I am still working from home. I have twin daughters and am blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by 4 cats that love to supervise and are very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, along with a small stuffed animal. Valley Children's Hospital is a new venture for me that just started this year. Every month or so I drop off a couple of quilts along with a small toy, for the children. I use a lot of bright, fun fabrics to help cheer them up. I do special order quilts but please be advised in advance as I work full-time in addition to quilting, I only do a few during the year. Also, it may take up to 6 months to a year to completely finish a quilt as my sewing time is limited. I only do applique or patchwork and will incorporate machine embroidery into my patterns, when requested. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you and friends again soon.
