Hello and Welcome back to Oh, My Stars Mystery Quilt. This is block #18 and it is called Texas Star!
I do not know about you, but here in the valley in California, we are having a heat wave along with humidity and I’m doing my very best not to turn on the iron, not really in the mood for a sauna at the moment. I am off this next weekend and plan to catch up then so for now I’m only posting the directions for the block.
The Texas Star is an easy block and looks similar to the Ohio Star. I looked online at Quilterscache and it is not available there. You will need to make 2 of these blocks and they should finish at 6.5 inches. I will be using three colors, a dark, medium and background.
From the light color, you will need to cut two 3 1.4 inch squares, cut into quarters to give 8 triangles.
From the dark color you will need to cut one 2.5 inch square.
From the dark color, you will need to cut two 3 1.4 inch squares cut into quarters to give 8 triangles.
From the medium color, you will need to cut four 2.5 inch squares.
Sewing Directions: See together four X blocks and sew together as a 9-patch.
I will be posting my block over the weekend. If you have Block Base or EQ software, you can find the block under the name of Texas Star. Have fun and thank you for playing along!
