Good morning and Welcome back to Oh, My Stars!
I am a little late in posting this weekend and my apologies. Once again, work has been hectic and long and I didn’t get all that I wanted to done yesterday!
The next block in our series is the Ribbon Star. I looked for it in quilterscache.com but it is not listed there, unless it’s under another name that I am not aware of. Anyway, the block should measure 6.5 inches squared and you will need 3 fabrics for this block, a light for the center, a medium for the background and a darker fabric for the star.
Here are the colors that I chose:
From the light color, for the center, you will need to cut four 2 3/8 squares, cut diagonally to give 4 half triangles.
From the dark color, you will need to cut 6 2 3/8 inch squares, cut on the diagonal for a total of 12 triangles.
From the medium color, you will need to cut four 2 inch squares for the outside corners.
Also from the medium color, you will need to cut four 2 3/8 inch squares, cut diagonally to give 8 triangles.
Here is what you will need after cutting:
This is the block before being completely sewn together:
Sewing Hints: You can make this block very easily by making half square triangles.
Here is one of my finished blocks:
Remember, you will need to make 2 of these blocks.
I will be posting 3 more blocks later today! Thank you for playing along!
