Hello and welcome back to Oh, My Stars.
Just a note before we go further, this is the last block that you need to make ONE of. We will be making TWO of the same block for the next 9 blocks. Also, as I seem to have a hard getting my blocks ready on Saturdays, I will be posting on Sunday from here on. Work has been very busy lately and just to tired to sew straight by the end of the week. My apologies!
This is block #10 and is Swamp Angel, a very pretty and easy block to make. I was unable to find at quilters.cache. The block should measure 6.5 inches square when finished. Again, and still, I am using 10 inch squares from my stash to make the blocks and I am still keeping my scraps and incorporating them into other blocks.
Here are the colors that I chose for the block. Quite colorful but they play together nicely. You will need 5 colors for the block, 3 dark and 2 light.
The sewing directions are fairly easy:
For color 1 dark and color 2 light you will need to cut the following:
Two 3 1/4 inch squares cut into quarters to make 8 triangles. Sew those together to make 4 Four X blocks.
For color 3 dark and color 4 light you will need to cut the following:
Two 2 7/8 squares cut in half to make 4 half square triangles.
The final dark color 5 will need a 2.5 inch square block for the center.
Here is a picture of the block laid out before sewn together:
Here is a picture of the pieces of the block that you will need.
As promised, here is my finished block!
Thanks for dropping by. The next block will be ready next Sunday and you will need to make 2 of each.
