Looking Forward

Good Morning Everyone

With the passing of Halloween going by oh too quickly, the countdown to Christmas is already upon us.  I haven’t figured out how many days or weeks there are left to this special holiday and will leave that to others to ponder.  But I really am not thinking about Christmas yet, I am thinking past that into next year and am trying to plan for the new year for our group.

Stash_Quilters is a great group and we have a good core membership of fantastic and creative quilters and friends!  This year has been good to us as a group, and we have had some trials and errors.  Swaps didn’t work out very well for reasons such as postage or whatever.  We have had some challenges for us to work on in the comfort of our homes but not much news from those playing along.  I enjoy hearing from everyone and there have been times that we have been quiet.  The retreat we did earlier in the year was a great success and we heard from a lot of old friends.  Thank you for keeping in touch.

Now, I am asking to hear from you once again.  What do you want from the group?  What would you like us to do or not do?  Please take a few moments before the Christmas rush starts and let us hear from you.  After all, the group is made up of members and members, when you go a little further, are individuals, meaning you!  You matter to us as you are part of us, a group of friends and quilters and your questions, ideas, and concerns do matter to us, so please speak up!

Please post to the group and let us know what you want to do this next year so we can start planning.  I would like to get a little head start so we are ready come January 1, 2013.

Thank you!

About cozyquilts

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Donna. My hubby is retired and I am still working from home. I have twin daughters and am blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by 4 cats that love to supervise and are very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, along with a small stuffed animal. Valley Children's Hospital is a new venture for me that just started this year. Every month or so I drop off a couple of quilts along with a small toy, for the children. I use a lot of bright, fun fabrics to help cheer them up. I do special order quilts but please be advised in advance as I work full-time in addition to quilting, I only do a few during the year. Also, it may take up to 6 months to a year to completely finish a quilt as my sewing time is limited. I only do applique or patchwork and will incorporate machine embroidery into my patterns, when requested. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you and friends again soon.
