June Newsy Letter

Good morning!

June is almost here and that means that the year is almost half over!  Yikes!  That means that we only have 6 months to start and finish our Christmas projects for the year!  Being quilters, I know that we are a little different from regular folks cuz we are always thinking ahead and planning, not just for the year but years to come!  How do you think UFOs come into the world.  And in honor of the half year mark, I think it is time to change things around a little bit, so this newsy letter is going to be a little different.

As you know, we have a lot of things listed so that everyone has something to choose from.  We have swaps listed and a lot of them are fairly quiet at the moment.  I propose that we get together as a group and see what we would like to do as a group. Shall we have more swaps or fewer, or do away with them altogether?  Or maybe wait and try again at a later date?  Please voice your opinion as this is your group too and we would love to hear from you.

We have several activities that you can do on your own at your pace.  They have been sent out as reminders in your emails and are available both in Word and in PDF files, so I won’t go into those at the moment.  If you have ones that you have finished, please post pictures to the group as we would love to see them.

Thank you for making this a great group of not only quilters but good friends.

About cozyquilts

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Donna. My hubby is retired and I am still working from home. I have twin daughters and am blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by 4 cats that love to supervise and are very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, along with a small stuffed animal. Valley Children's Hospital is a new venture for me that just started this year. Every month or so I drop off a couple of quilts along with a small toy, for the children. I use a lot of bright, fun fabrics to help cheer them up. I do special order quilts but please be advised in advance as I work full-time in addition to quilting, I only do a few during the year. Also, it may take up to 6 months to a year to completely finish a quilt as my sewing time is limited. I only do applique or patchwork and will incorporate machine embroidery into my patterns, when requested. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you and friends again soon.
