Just in time for Memorial Day, the third block in our series: The Flag.

As you can see this uses several half square triangles and one 6.5 inch square.
Blue: One 6.5 inch square
You need (1) 6 1/2″ blocks blue, and (27) red/white half-square triangles that measure 2 1/2″ unfinished (2 in. finished).
I sewed the pairs of triangles together, then laid out the block. I sewed the 9 hsts to the right of the blue block. Then sewed the blue square to the batch of hsts. Then I sewed the 18 other hsts together, then sewed the 2 rectangles together. It is very easy, just need to pay attention to the layout.
