TRIANGLE SOUP

Hello Everyone

Yesterday went by so fast that I forgot to post the the fabric requirements for our new quilt Triangle Soup!

I’m not sure how it happened, but I seem to be running an orphanage for fabric that is no longer loved, so I have inherited a lot of triangles that are calling out very LOUDLY to be used!  Also, I need the bin so I can fill it even more scraps waiting in the wings!  My goal with this mystery is to use up as many as possible triangles!

Remember this is designed to use up leftover triangles of different sizes, but you can also go very scrappy or controlled.  My choice for the blocks are  scrappy bright.

Actually, my friend Donna R. and I have been collaborating together on the designs with Electric Quilt, and Donna has been testing the patterns.  There are 12 blocks and each block will measure 12.5 x 12.5 unfinished and will be a sampler quilt.  We are still deciding on the borders and all but for now will be concentrating on the blocks.  We will provide the directions and measurements for the blocks as we go along, plus links to the patterns. The blocks will vary from fairly easy to a little bit of a challenge, but as quilters, we can overcome challenges!

Anyway, here is the bin of triangles that I plan to dive into and use up.  Please tell me that I’m not the only one with a stash of triangles!

STAY TUNED FOR THE FIRST BLOCK TO BE POSTED TOMORROW!

About cozyquilts

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Donna. My hubby is retired and I am still working from home. I have twin daughters and am blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by 4 cats that love to supervise and are very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, along with a small stuffed animal. Valley Children's Hospital is a new venture for me that just started this year. Every month or so I drop off a couple of quilts along with a small toy, for the children. I use a lot of bright, fun fabrics to help cheer them up. I do special order quilts but please be advised in advance as I work full-time in addition to quilting, I only do a few during the year. Also, it may take up to 6 months to a year to completely finish a quilt as my sewing time is limited. I only do applique or patchwork and will incorporate machine embroidery into my patterns, when requested. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you and friends again soon.
