Here are the directions for the third block. This is a 9 inch Hourglass block. I don’t have a link for the block and am still making my block, so no pictures yet, but it’s fairly easy to do.
One important thing to remember that I need to point out. The 9 inch Ohio Star will have its border coming from the light side of the Hourglass block. You will need 3 colors, I have chosen green, red, and a tan that coordinates with the Ohio Star. You will need 4 of these Hourglass units. These are instructions for all 4 blocks.
From the red, cut 10 1/4 inch square (2) Cut diagonally twice in an “X” for 8 triangles total.
From the green, cut one 10 1/4 inch square. Cut diagonally twice in an “X” for 4 triangles total.
From the tan, cut one 10 1/4 inch square. Cut diagonally twice in an “X” for 4 triangles total.
Now sew a red and green triangle to make a triangle pair.
Sew a red and tan triangle together for another pair.
Now sew both pairs together to make your Hourglass. Remember that the tan will be framing the Ohio Star block so it will appear that the Ohio Star is on point.
And that’s that for this simple block. Have fun.
